Apple Inc. (AAPL) Planned iPhone5 Prior To Steve Jobs Death

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) planned and designed the iPhone5 before the company’s co-founder Steve Jobs passed away back in 2011.

George Gascon, an attorney from San Francisco said, Apple’s liaison officer Michael Foulkes told in a meeting that two smartphones were designed before Tim Cook became chief executive officer. This means that the current generation (the iPhone5) as well as the next iPhone5[S] that will be launched, were both managed by Steve Jobs.

Jobs passed away just one after the iPhone 4s release.

According to Horace Dediu, former Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) executive and current lead of Asymco, explained, “Having worked in a phone company, I think it’s a given [that the phones were designed that far back]. Work under way now is for products shipping in 2016. “Software alone does not a phone make. Hardware specifications are [determined] on a different time scale.

Apparently, Gascon is surprised by that it takes years to create and design a phone before it comes out into the market. He was hoping that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and other tech companies would devise a plan to common system to disable tablets and smartphones that were stolen. Unfortunately, Foulkes explained to Gascon that creating such a feature would be long and laborious.

However, the United Kingdom already has something similar to prevent stolen smartphones. Carriers cooperate in an effort with International Mobile Equipment Identity numbers for each phone or device. The only downside to this system is that it was not established internationally so it may make it a little bit hard which means that phone might be taken to another country and activated.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) created their first iPhone in 2005 before releasing it two years later. They always manage to keep their gadgets top secret prior to announcements. A representative for the company said, “Apple does not comment on rumors and speculation,”

The iPhone5S might be available in stores later this year.
