The Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) rumor season will be coming to a close soon now that the Cupertino, CA company has confirmed that it will indeed be unveiling its new phones at a press event on Tuesday. For all the rumor-mongering that I’ve personally done, it seems a shame that I will be spending the bulk of my day in international airport terminals—under the extra scrutiny of being a relatively young man who lives in Latin America, my bags properly violated before long—so I’ll be none the wiser regarding Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) news.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) To Begin Selling New iPhones In China on Sept. 20?

China offering Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C

Today’s tidbit from rumor season suggests, courtesy of Apple Insider, that both China Telecom Corporation Limited (ADR) (NYSE:CHA) (HKG:0728) and China Unicom (Hong Kong) Limited (ADR) (NYSE:CHU) (HKG:0762) will both begin offering the “iPhone 5S” and “iPhone5C” as soon as September 20. This is quite the step forward on the calender as many experts/insiders had thought that neither would be able to offer these new additions to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s product line any earlier than October. The quotation marks around the phone models to be unveiled is simply a testament to remaining uncertainty as Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has still said nothing.

Suggestions regarding the release date of the new iPhones on the aforementioned carriers comes from a report by Chinese website Sina Tech, and a translation that appeared today via Apple Insider.

China Mobile to offer iPhone late

The same report suggests that the world’s largest mobile carrier, China Mobile Ltd. (ADR) (NYSE:CHL) (HKG:0941), with over 800 million subscribers, will not be offering the new models until late October. That could even go well into November as the  TD-LTE 4G compatible versions of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s next-generation handsets will need to go through regulatory approval—something quicker in China compared to the States, but nonetheless a process.

To round up from the rumor mill today, the iPhone 5S is reportedly going to be offered in four colors: white, black, a “champagne” shade of Gold and potentially graphite. The plastic-backed iPhone 5C is expected to be offered in white, red, green, blue, and yellow though there have been a number of photos showing a hot pink back “in the wild.”

Thankfully, come Tuesday the speculation should come to an end, at least until someone mentions the iWatch.
