Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is expected to launch its next-gen iPhone in September event, a few days from now, and before that it has started some excellent trade in deals to help users upgrade from their older iPhone. Under the new scheme, Apple is offering a gift card in exchange for older iPhones.

Apple offering gift cards
At Apple online or offline stores customers can swap their iPhones, iPads, and Macs for Apple gift cards. For a used iPhone 5 in good condition, Apple is offering $296 to $406 and for a used iPhone 4S in good condition, the offered price is $181 – $241.
Wal-Mart offering instant credit
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT) is offering credit that the customer can reimburse at a Wal-mart store or online immediately. At Wal-Mart, similar deals are offered on all sorts of old consumer electronic devices. For a used iPhone 5 in good condition, the retailer is offering between $250 to $350 while, for a used iPhone 4S, in good condition the price is $153 – $225.
Best Buy providing free recycling
Similarly, at Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE:BBY), a customer can get gift cards in exchange for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhones online or at offline retail stores. Also, at Best Buy a user can get his old devices recycled. Prior to this offer, Best Buy also offered a deal where users were given an option to exchange their iPhone 4 or 4S for an iPhone 5—probably to sell away the inventory before launch of the new iPhone.
Gazelle, Nextworth giving 30 day grace period
Gazelle is providing an interesting offer, in which users can get a deal on their old iPhone or device and lock the price, but can take 30 days’ time to actually send their phones to the store, which gives them ample time to buy the new iPhone before giving up the older one.
Nextworth, which is although not as popular as others, is also providing lucrative offers on iPhones. It is perhaps providing the best deal with the highest offer price, free shipping and 30 day quotes like Gazelle. Additionally, the store has a partnership with around 1,500 retail partners, which implies that a customer can sell old iPhones in any of their partner stores.
Other retailers like eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) and iCrack are also giving deals that are hard to ignore on older iPhones.
