Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) co-founder Steve Wozniak denies that he has criticized the new iPads, according to a report from NewDomain.net. Wozniak, who does not shy away from carping the company he co-founded, is this time however denying reports that claim he has criticized the newly launched iPads.
Wozniak clarifies
Last week there were many reports saying that Wozniak did not find the new iPads suitable for his use.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) co-founder Wozniak clarifies to Gina Smith, the author of his memoir iWOZ: How I Invented the Personal Computer and Had Fun Doing It, that the refreshed iPads are good in all aspects, however, lacking a critical change because of which he is not upgrading to the new devices.
“I don’t think you have a choice between iPad models so that’s just saying that the iPad is good … that’s a very different statement (and contrary to the implication) that, if I chose not to upgrade now, less than a year after my last upgrade, then I, Woz, am saying that the new Apple iPad is bad.”
British media misquoted Apple co-founder
Wozniak said the British media misquoted him. In his email to NewDomain.net, Woziak said that though he denounced the U.K. media, he is determined to answer every question with honesty. Wozniak said that some headlines were very wrong, indicating that he didn’t like the new iPad.
The Apple co-founder said that he didn’t buy every upgrade of iPad, but he loves his iPad and uses it a lot. However, he didn’t find any substantial difference between the refreshed one and its predecessor. Also, he upgraded to Retina iPad when it provided storage of 128 GB of SSD because it was useful to him. He also bought the new MacBook Pro online because expansion from three quarter of TB to 1TB of SSD was useful to him.
Wozniak departed from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) many years ago, and is not involved in product development, but he is still considered a mascot and cheerleader for the company. After the clarification by the co-founder, it is very clear that articles misquoting Wozniak for his views on the new iPads are based on misunderstanding.
