Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) co-founder Steve Wozniak doesn’t seem to be impressed with iPad Air and iPad mini Retina display. Steve Wozniak could not attend the event as he was on the plane to London, but gave his feedback to the audience at App World once he arrived.
Woz wants more space
Wozniak, while in the UK, said that the iPad Air lacks enough storage and Retina mini doesn’t interest him, as well.
The disappointment of the co-founder was reported by Techradar: “When I finally took a look at the devices, the iPads didn’t hit my needs,” he said. When asked about the thinner, lighter iPad Air, he said that though it is slimmer, it lacks storage, which he was expecting. Woz said that he does not have a broadband connection at home, so he prefers to take all personal media in the iPad and thus would have liked to see 256 GB iPad.
Macworld noted that Woznaik has very specific needs for his iPad: “I was hoping for more storage so I could put every episode of Big Bang Theory on my iPad. So I e-mailed my wife and said, ‘nope, I don’t want one of those.'”
As far as the iPad Mini goes, Woz said that it’s “just a hair too large.” He also said, “I must confess to having the same problem with the Mini. I have become rather partial to the Nexus 7. (Yes, I pretend I’m not looking when I am faced with the OS)”.
Emotional connection with Apple
Despite not being impressed with the new Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) gadgets, Wozniak showed his emotional connection to Apple while speaking at Elon University a few weeks ago when he said, “I get a $50 check every two weeks or something now,” going on to say, “I want to be the one person who’s been on the salary computer of Apple every single day since day one.”
Even if Woz isn’t enamored with the new tablets, critics and analysts have had good things to say about the iPad Air and iPad mini, and applauded the slimmer and lighter iPad Air. Storage versions of the iPad Air are 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB, and users are also given a space on iCloud, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) cloud storage device.
