Fort Lee officials have posted to their Facebook page that they have issued the all clear. Officials have not provided any more details or released the identity of the reported gunman. They have also not said whether there were any injuries in the incident. A spokesperson for the military base reportedly said that although they have given the base the all clear, the building where the incident occurred is still contained and closed off from the rest of the base, reports The Wire.
PREVIOUSLY
The building where the shooter was reported at Fort Lee is the base’s headquarters. Those who are on scene at the military base say alarms are sounding all across the base. WTVR reports that an audible alert has given the all clear. However, no further information has been provided yet, and the Fort Lee Twitter feed has not yet been updated.
The Combined Arms Support Command is located in the building. Fort Lee is located approximately 25 south of Richmond, Va.
FIRST REPORT
Multiple news outlets are reporting that there’s an active shooter on the ground at Fort Lee. The military facility is currently on lockdown. The Virginia army base reported the location of the “active shooter incident” on its Twitter feed:
