Apple Announces The New iPad

Today Apple announced their new device, the LTE equipped iPad at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco . We have been anticipating for this event, some of the rumors which we discussed turned out to be true.  The event decoration was similar to what we already seen in previous years. We watched Tim Cook and Philip Schiller unveling the new iPad 3 and they did pretty well, this will set a precedent for all the future Apple events. This the major event done after Steve Jobs’ passing.

Tim Cook talked about the post-PC era, and said about iPad “defined a whole new category. In many ways, the iPad is reinventing portable computing and it’s out-stripping the wildest of predictions.” “Apple has its feet firmly planted in the post-PC future.”

The new iPad has a Retina Display, they mentioned that “We are redefining the category that Apple created with the original iPad.” “This presents a problem for us in presenting it to you. For the first time an iPad has a higher? resolution than this entire display behind you… That’s a fun challenge.”

Some of the  features for the new iPad are:

  • Retina Display, 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution 3.1 million pixels and can enable HD 1080p capability for watching HD movies on its 9.7 inch LCD screen
  • A5X Quad core processor
  •  iSight camera, 5-megapixel backside sensor on the back
  • New version of iOS 5.1
  • Connectivity 4G LTE
  • A thicker case than the case of iPad2
  • 10 hours of battery life
  • Voice Dictation that supports US English, British, Australian, French, German and Japanese

The new iPad will be available at stores next March 16th.

The prices for the iPad 3 are:

$499 for 16GB 32GB for $599 and 64GB for $699.
4G: it’s $629 for 16GB, $729 for 32GB and $829 for 64GB .
