WisdomTree Investments, Inc. (NASDAQ:WETF) has completed the £12.2 million acquisition of Boost ETP, a UK-based exchange-traded product.

WisdomTree chief executive and president Jonathan Steinberg said the company will soon start building a European platform for a range of UCITS ETFs under the WisdomTree brand.

Completes acquisition of Boost ETP

The exchange-traded fund sponsor and asset manager, WisdomTree Investments, Inc. (NASDAQ:WETF) announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Boost ETP, a UK-based exchange-traded product provider. The completion of the acquisition would facilitate the American firm to expand its footprint to Europe.

The ETF sponsor will commence the previously announced build-out of a local WisdomTree Investments, Inc. (NASDAQ:WETF) brand and continue to manage and grow the Boost lineup of short and leveraged fully collateralized ETPs under the Boost brand.

Enthused with the completion of the acquisition, WisdomTree’s CEO and President Jonathan Steinberg said the ETF sponsor would deepen and expand its offerings as the world’s eighth largest ETF sponsor and look forward to serving the European market.

Strong show by WisdomTree

WisdomTree has long been known as an ETF provider focusing on dividend-weighted products, and also international markets. It is in this international space where WisdomTree has really made a name for itself though, particularly in the case of Japan.

WisdomTree is also doubling down on its currency-hedged ETF program in a country that has provided a huge chunk of its assets under management. The firm currently has half a dozen such products.

Citi analysts in their report tracking U.S. mutual fund flows noted on the equities side, by looking at 4Q and 2013, WisdomTree Investments, Inc. (NASDAQ:WETF) produced one of the best flow dynamics. Similarly, the analysts noted that on the fixed income side, too, WisdomTree Investments produced one of the strongest FI flows during 2013.

As reported earlier, assets in global ETF/ETP industry touched a record high of $2.4 trillion aided by strong net inflows and positive market performance.

The New York-based ETF sponsor of the business for $20 million, with the Boost shareholders retaining the remainder. However, they can be bought out by WisdomTree Investments, Inc. (NASDAQ:WETF) over four years.
