Local media in New Haven are reporting that police have one suspect in custody after reports of a gunman on the campus of the University of New Haven. Authorities reportedly conducted a methodical search, going from building to building on campus to ensure all was clear. Police used K9 units to track the suspect who was seen leaving a nearby grocery store and walking toward the campus.
At this time, the campus is still on lockdown, according to the official Twitter account of the University of New Haven.

Officials at the University of New Haven have issued a report stating that a man who appeared to have a rifle was seen near campus. A spokesperson for the university said the man was seen at a nearby grocery store before he began moving toward the school.
Campus officials have set up a shelter and are awaiting further instruction from authorities about the situation. The university is currently on lockdown as police move in on the campus and investigate the report.
