Samsung hopes to enter the mobile payment market soon. There were rumors that the South Korean tech giant is working on a smartwatch that enables customers to make mobile payments. Earlier this year, the popular phone maker introduced Samsung Pay, a mobile payment service that is similar to Apple Pay. Samsung’s service was expected to be launched this summer, but a recent rumor indicates that it may launch in September with a new device.

Samsung Pay coming soon

The company’s CEO, JK Shin, shared his excitement for Samsung Pay in March when he said, “Samsung Pay will reinvent how people pay for goods and services and transform how they use their smartphones.”

The new service makes it easy to pay, and it is also secure. When paired with the company’s large network of partners, Samsung Pay will likely transform the way people pay for things. Samsung’s top rival, Apple, offers its mobile payment system on the iPhone and Apple Watch. Some speculate that Samsung may also launch a smartwatch with a similar feature. The popular Android phone maker already has a significant customer base throughout the world. Samsung could easily tap into that market with a service many people will find useful.
