Nintendo, on Sunday, unveiled impressive new content for some of its games, including two new characters: Ryu from the Street Fighter series and Roy from Fire Emblem. The announcement was made during a special video presentation which focused Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.

New characters, costumes and stages

The new characters from Nintendo, which are available for download now, join Lucas from Mother 3 as new playable fighters, according to Nintendo’s game’s director, Masahiro Sakurai.

Apart from the new characters, the gaming powerhouse also offered a software update allowing gamers to enjoy three more stages and give them more options to select costumes for Mii Fighters. The new options include costumes from the classic fighting series Virtua Fighter and Tekken.

Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, said, “Today’s update proves that the evergreen Super Smash Bros. games continue to evolve and grow with unexpected new content.”

Now with all-new characters, stages and costumes, top fighting game franchises like Super Smash Bros., Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter and Tekken have come together for the first time.
