It won’t be long before Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) releases the Nexus 5 smartphone. Apparently, the search giant just leaked a promo video for the upcoming Kit Kat Android 4.4 software update, and in it they show glimpses of a Google employee taking photos with an unidentified Nexus device. Could this be the Nexus 5?
Nexus 5 technical features
The Nexus 5 is predicted to launch sometime next month. This LG phone features a 5.2 inch high-definition 1080p display, 13 megapixel rear camera, LTE connectivity, 2.3 GHz Snapdragon processor, and a choice of either 2GB or 3GB of RAM. It will also come with the Android 4.4 Kit Kat operating system which gives it a nice advancement.
Adam Mills for Gotta Be Mobile added, “Yesterday, just a few days after slashing the price tag $100, the Nexus 8GB went out of stock and it may never return to shelves. Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s Nexus 4 16GB remains available and ready to ship out in one to two days. With the price cut and now the likely discontinuation of the Nexus 4 8GB, consumer interest in a Nexus 5 is sure to ramp up as we march towards the holidays. And while nothing is set in stone, it’s looking like we may see the Nexus 5 arrive in just a few short weeks.”
Competition for Nexus 5
The Nexus 5 may not garner as much interest as the upcoming iPhone 5S or the current Samsung Galaxy S4, but it’s still a worthwhile product. The Nexus makes a terrific alternative phone for those who want a less popular model. Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s making big strides in the market and it’s evident that the company is still a strong player. Smartphones are basically one of the most in-demand products of all time right now, and as long as you have a product that will offer something to a key number of users, the product should remain relevant.
