Images have been leaked purportedly showing Microsoft’s new Windows 10 Mobile smartphones.

The handsets are the first flagship Windows 10 phones, and are codenamed Cityman and Talkman. The images were leaked by Evan “evleaks” Blass.

Leaked images show two new flagship Windows Phones

In the photo the Cityman can be seen with a cyan rear cover. The larger handset measures 5.7-inches and features a 2560-by-1440 resolution display. Talkman has a 5.2-inch display with the same resolution, and is shown in black. As with previous Microsoft Lumia phones, it appears that both the Cityman and the Talkman feature dedicated camera buttons.

Another leaked image found by Neowin’s Brad Sams shows the Cityman connected to what The Verge believes is the “Wizard” device that connects the phone to an external monitor. In doing so it enables a full-screen mouse-and-keyboard interface using the Continuum feature of Windows 10. The new handsets will be the first Windows phones to support the new feature.

Windows Central previously revealed that the Cityman will feature a more powerful Snapdragon 810 processor and a larger 3,300 mAh battery. The Talkman will have a Snapdragon 808 and a 3,000 mAh battery.

Both devices will have 3GB of RAM, 32GB hard drive, 20-megapixel PureView rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera and a slot for a microSD card. Also included will be an iris scanner compatible with Windows Hello and Qi wireless charging capabilities.

Anticipation building ahead of rumored October event

It is thought that Microsoft will reveal the two phones at an event in October, at which the company will also reveal the Surface Pro 4 tablet and the next generation Band wearable device. The Cityman is expected to be called the Lumia 950 XL when it goes on sale, while the Talkman will be named Lumia 950.

The design of the two phones seems fairly conventional, so it is likely that Microsoft will market the phones using Continuum, Windows Hello, the strength of the camera and deep compatibility with Windows 10.

Microsoft has neither confirmed nor denied that the leaked images are of its two new handsets, and their veracity should be doubted until the company does so. Its offices did not respond to an immediate request for comment.
