iPhone 6 vs. iPhone 5S: New Leaked Photos

Updated on

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) fans who can barely wait for the next big smartphone don’t have much longer to wait as the phone is predicted to debut later this summer. In the meantime, we can continue to expect to see leaked images and rumors regarding the device.

A new iPhone 6 leak

One of the most recent leaks come from a Weibo user who goes by the screen name dreamerJimmy. He showed images of the current iPhone 5S and the leaked iPhone 6. 9-to-5 Mac first reported on the leaked images. Interestingly enough, the report says dreamerJimmy is a reliable source as he posted accurate photos of both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

One noticeable difference between the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 is screen size. Photos also show a thinner phone which is consistent with other leaks. The leaked images show a phone that in many ways looks quite similar to the iPod Touch fifth generation. A close-up of the image shows the edges of the iPhone 6 are noticeably slimmer and a little curved much like the iPod Touch 5th generation and iPad Air.

The back of the device has a metal finish with inlets on both the top and bottom. These inlets are presumably for the antenna system.

Another leaked image of iPhone 6

Nowhereelse.fr also published similar images of an iPhone 6 with a metal chassis and thin body. The fact that numerous sources report and purported images of similar products augurs well for the accuracy of the rumors. With that said, there is still a strong possibility Apple surprises everyone. The Cupertino-based tech giant prides itself on its secrecy and its ability to keep future projects hidden from media and the public until their debut.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is expected to launch two versions of the iPhone 6 including a 4.7 inch iPhone and 5.5 inch iPhone on a staggered basis. The latter would be designed to compete directly with the phablet market, which is currently dominated by Android heavyweights Samsung and HTC.
