Apple’s iPhone 6 is on its way. A new report from the Wall Street Journal indicates the company is on a hiring spree in an effort to speed up the process of certain devices. It’s also been reported that Apple is trying to hire away top employees from rivals such as HTC and others.

iPhone 6 could come in two versions

This latest report adds more fuel to the latest rumor that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will offer two versions of the iPhone 6. One model reportedly will measure somewhere between 4.5 to 5 inches and the other will go beyond 5 inches. Both versions are said to feature metal casings much like the current iPhone. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is expected to completely scrap plastic for phones this year.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is also hiring more supply chain managers to help speed up the entire process. According to the report, Apple’s operations staff now tops out at 600 employees.

It was explained, “Last August, Apple used the professional networking website LinkedIn to reach out individually to engineers at HTC and its Taiwanese suppliers Inventec Corp. and Quanta Computer Inc., among others. “Apple is building an engineering team in Taipei to drive new iPhone product development,” Apple said in one recruiting email obtained by The Wall Street Journal.Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) also has been hiring for its main Asian base in Shanghai, where it moved into a new three-building complex last year, people familiar with the matter said.”

iPhone 6 could include impressive features

According to a recent report from International Business Times in Australia, four very possible features for the iPhone 6 include a faster battery charge that lasts longer, even faster 5G Wi-Fi, remote input control that would allow users to physically interact or make gestures from a distance, and almost perfect self-healing tech display. The latter will likely involve a patent called ‘Systems and Methods for Preventing Light Guide Plate Scratching Artifacts’. This feature could make the iPhone 6 display erase deficiencies unlike previous models.
