Its been only a few days since the release of iOS 7.1. But users are experiencing plenty of problems with the updated operating system. iOS 7.1 has been in beta testing for about five months

Ars Technica also found a statistical drop in battery life with the iOS 7.1 update. That’s quite surprising because the new version of the OS has been with developers for beta testing since November 2013 before being released on March 10. Nobody seems to have noticed the battery drainage issue. The iOS 7.1 brings a lot of new features for the iPad and iPhone. The new features include changes to the keyboard, UI tweaks, CarPlay, performance enhancements to improve the speed of software and fixes for major bugs.

How to fix the iOS 7.1 battery problem

Many users said that the issue can be resolved by running a clean install of the latest version by restoring through iTunes. Another way to improve battery life is to turn off the push mail service. Your device consistently pull data from servers, checking for new mail when push is turned on. Processes running in the background usually have a negative impact on battery. So, turning off push is worth a try.

If the iOS 7.1 battery is really bad, try lowering the screen brightness, which sucks a lot of battery out of your iPhone or iPad. Keeping the display brightness to a minimum should squeeze a bit more battery life out of your device. The 4G LTE connectivity also eats a lot of battery life. So, it’s wise to shut down the LTE when not in use. Also, turn off 4G LTE when the connectivity is weak because constantly searching for networks drains a lot of battery.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has yet to comment on the battery drainage issue related to the iOS 7.1 update.
