HTC Corp (TPE:2498) just unveiled their latest smartphone: the One Max, which features a fingerprint scanner. It seems that HTC Corporation is doing much more than taking a cue from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) with a fingerprint scanner; it seems they want to compete directly against Samsung. This new phablet-style phone features a 5.9″ full high-definition 1080p display, which makes it bigger than Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3.

HTC Corporation fingerprint scan feature

USA Today added, “HTC Corporation one-ups Samsung with at least one new addition, a Fingerprint Scan feature on the back of the device that folks can use to lock or unlock the screen and launch up to three designated apps (by assigning a different finger to each). Unlike the Touch ID fingerprint scanner that Apple Inc. (NADSAQ:AAPL) has placed on the new iPhone 5s, you cannot use HTC Corp (TPE:2498)’s scanner to authenticate purchases, at least for now.”

The battle for the best smartphone is a never-ending saga. Fortunately, it looks like HTC Corp (TPE:2498) is up to par and ready for the ride. The new One Max phone comes with 32GB of on-board storage, as well as 50GB of free Google Drive storage. Users can also expand the phone’s memory options thanks to the microSD slot that’s hidden behind the back cover (which can be removed). This phone features the sleek, metallic design you would expect from a high-end gadget; the only caveat is that’s it is larger and heavier (it ways about 7 1/2 ounces).

The phone will also feature a personalized BlinkFeed home-screen, which offers frequent content from social media applications like Instagram and Google+. Other notable features include an UltraPixel camera and the HTC Corporation Zoe, which records video while you take a picture. There is also a video highlights feature that creates a short movie backed by a soundtrack. The HTC Corporation One Movie smartphone doesn’t come with Beats Audio; instead, it features HTC Corporation Boom Sound, which offers the same sound effects.
