Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) is about to get a start in the PC gaming industry. The computer maker is poised to launch Omen, its first game laptop.

The machine features a 15-inch display and slim 19.9mm thick frame. It weighs about 4.68 pounds. HP added that it took care with designing the laptop’s chassis for thermal optimization which allows it to run the Core i7 for longer periods of time. This laptop pulls air from the bottom of the machine and pushes it out of the machine. This prevents the user’s hands from being scalded from hot air. According to HP, all the computer’s thermal engineering gives the Omen a comparable performance to laptops with similar specs.

A look at HP’s new gaming laptop

The frame of the new HP laptop is made from CNC machinated aluminum anodized with a black finish and the chrome hinge was coated to look like tops from an exhaust system. All the ports are also located in the laptop’s backside to keep wires out of site.

The laptop’s users can configure the computer’s performance with preinstalled software. This would enable keyboard shortcuts and change fan speed controls. What really sets this laptop apart from rival laptops is that it strikes a balance with optimal frame rates and resolution. The higher-screen resolution would result in suboptimal frame rates.
