Chicago, IL – Consumer and immigrant rights advocates traveled to Springfield this month to meet with Illinois legislators and ask for their help in urging Attorney General Lisa Madigan to conclude her investigation of Herbalife International, Inc., a multi-level marketing company accused of running an illegal pyramid scheme.

Representatives from HACES (Hispanic American Community and Education Services), BPNC (Brighton Park Neighborhood Council), DCP (Developing Communities Project), and Herbalife victims from across Illinois, participated in meetings with state legislators to discuss why the investigation has taken so long.

“Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s office has received more than 125 consumer complaints from Illinois residents that claim to have been defrauded due to Herbalife’s fraudulent business practices,” said Juanita Ramirez a Herbalife victim that filed a complaint with Lisa Madigan’s office.

Community leaders urge additional victims to come forward by calling the Illinois Herbalife Campaign hotline at (855) 701-5437.
