Some of the tweets read:

“Because this is how I wanted to start my day. Gmail/Google Apps is down. Can’t log in via IMAP, POP or web. Ugh.”

“Google Apps Admin Console Down: Comments:”

“Yes folks. Google apps, at least Gmail, appear to be down. Do not panic. Back away from your desk and go outside for 30 minutes.”

There are problems even in loading the Gmail Login screen and the message showing on the screen reads an apology from the Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) team.

It read “Sorry, there seems to be a problem. The service you’re looking for is temporarily unavailable. We’re working hard to restore your access as soon as possible. Please try again in a few hours. Thanks for your patience.”

The users made multiple efforts to login via IMAP, through Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s mail program on the iPhone, and some through Android devices but got the message “password invalid” in many cases.

The issue pertained in almost all the apps including Gmail apps for education and Gmail apps for business, as per the IT experts.

There was no word from Gmail related to Gmail outage issue and their App Status page is not showing any current issue. But around 9 a.m Google’s App status page showed issues with Gmail and Google Drive.

As per the status of App Status Dashboard, the glitch first started with the Admin Control Panel and API at 8:20 AM. After that, Google Mail went offline at 8:58 followed by Google Drive at 9:01 AM. Google Documents joined the group after 10 minutes at 9:11 AM only along with Google Spreadsheets and Google Presentations at 9:12 AM.

Before this outage, there has been these kind of issues in the past as well when some apps of Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) are not accessible. About a month earlier, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) confirmed some downtime issues with its cloud storage service Google Drive in the U.S. and abroad.
