Google is asking users whose Google Pixel 2 crashes with Android Auto to share bug reports in order for the problem to be addressed. The company is extending the request to users of its product forums.
The last couple of weeks have been very difficult for Google’s smartphones. It didn’t take long for users of the Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL to start complaining and reporting the issues that came along with the two powerful smartphones. Many users are experiencing problems with the Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL with Android Auto. They say that the app randomly crashes when used. Unfortunately, the issue is only fixed when the user unplugs and then plugs it back into the car.
Most users report that the app crashes to while they use Google Play Music or Google Maps. However, there are also users who say that the Google Pixel 2 crashes with Android Auto while being used by some other apps too, such as Waze, Audible, and others. Users experiencing these random crashes are mainly drivers of Ford, Kia, Honda, Volvo, and VW vehicles, although there may be a few auto brands also affected. The stereo systems they are using tend to be either Sony or Pioneer, although a few other brands may be affected too.

Google Pixel 2 XL users are not excluded from this annoying issue. However, it is important to note that owners of their predecessors, the Pixel and Pixel XL, haven’t experienced a similar problem and that both smartphones work flawlessly with Android Auto. There’s also one report by an LG G6 user regarding the same matter. However, it’s still unclear whether users of other Android smartphones are experiencing the same problem with the app crashing.
It is still unclear why the Google Pixel 2 crashes with Android Auto. However, Google is asking users of both the regular Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL to take a screenshot and share the bug reports so that it can fix the problem.
