Galaxy S7, S7 Edge Live Photos Leaked Ahead Of Unpacked Event

Updated on

Samsung’s next-gen flagship smartphones Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be unveiled at the Unpacked event on February 21. Just days ahead of the official unveiling, live photos of both the devices have leaked. Other details including their prices have also been revealed. Vietnamese website Reviewdao leaked the actual image of Galaxy S7, which features a curved glass back panel.

Exynos variant to be more powerful

You can still notice the camera bump, but it is not as protruding as that on the Galaxy S6. The shiny magnesium metal frame is also easy to spot. The Vietnamese publication points out that the Exynos 8890-powered Galaxy S7 will be 15% more powerful than the Snapdragon 820 variant. The device in question is waterproof and dustproof. It charges from zero to 80% in less than 30 minutes.

Reviewdao adds that the S7 will have a 12-megapixel BRITECELL camera with f/1.7 aperture. The leak also mentioned prices of the new phones. The Galaxy S7 will reportedly be priced at 16.49 million dong ($740), while the S7 Edge will cost 19.9 million ($890). The report adds that the phones will go on sale in Vietnam on March 18, about a week after hitting the European and US stores.

Galaxy S7 Edge leak shows AnTuTu benchmark result

Separately, a live image of the S7 Edge has appeared on Chinese microblogging site Weibo. As expected, it shows the smartphone’s curved display. The image also shows the AnTuTu benchmark result 134,704, which confirms the authenticity of the leak. It also shows the phone’s model number as SM-G9350, with the last digit denoting the region it will be sold in.

Last week, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge passed through the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website. Past leaks suggest that the S7 Edge would feature a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED Display, 4GB RAM, 12MP rear camera, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, a 3,600mAh battery, and a microSD card slot. Both the phones should run Android Marshmallow with TouchWiz UI on top.
