Apple has released an iOS 6.1.2 update to address some bugs in the operating system, such as the Exchange Calendar bug that could result in reduced battery life. There was a concern within the jailbreak community that Apple could have fixed the exploits responsible for the jailbreak, but fortunately, the exploit was not fixed.

Evad3rs team member – Planetbeing, announced on his Twitter account about the release of the iOS 6.1.2 update, he also confirmed that the exploits that was used in the Evasi0n tool are unpatched in this new firmware update.

After sometime, Planetbeing posted another tweet saying that the developers are going to release version 1.4 later today.

The Evad3rs team worked around the clock to update the Evasi0n tool to version 1.4. This means if your device has been updated to iOS 6.1.2, you can now download the Evasi0n 1.4 and jailbreak your iOS device.

However, if you are thinking to jailbreak your iOS 6.1.2 device, ensure you have disabled your passcode. You can do this from Settings > General > Passcode > Lock and toggle it to OFF. Another point to remember is that you should update the device to iOS 6.1.2 by using iTunes, and not via OTA (over the air) update. With that in mind, you can proceed to jailbreak your device.

With the Evasi0n tool, jailbreaking the device is as easy as a single click. If you’re already running on an iOS 6.1.2 jailbroken device, let us know about your experience.
