AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) is gearing up for a very busy holiday season. Just weeks ago, the company finally started selling the highly anticipated iPhone 5. Next month, the carrier plans to add three new HTC phones to their lineup, including One X+, One VX, and Windows Phone 8X. The latter will be available sometime next month, the former two phones should be available in the upcoming months.
At press time, no pricing information is available.
In the last few weeks, AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has been increasing their selection of smartphones and tablets from Sony and Samsung, in anticipation of the busiest holiday season ever.
The first two phones (One X+ and One VX) are exclusive to AT&T. One X+ is reported to be a lot like the first version of One X, only this version has a quad core processor, Android Jelly Bean operating system, better battery life, and a whopping 64GB of storage.
One VX will be a budget-friendly version of the aforementioned model, with a unibody case that measures 9.19 millimeters, a 4.5 inch Gorilla Glass display, and a 5mp camera.
AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) is also the only carrier to offer the Windows 8X phone. T-Mobile and Verizon might opt to carry the same model, or they could carry the Windows Phone 8S.
It’s going to be a busy season for AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) and other carriers, especially now that the iPhone 5 is in the picture. I can only imagine that competitors like HTC Corp (TPE:2498) are really feeling the pressure right now to make a substantial amount of sales. It’s a good thing that HTC Corp (TPE:2498) is offering three new models, although two may or may not even be available during the holiday season. I’m hoping that they release all their new phones by late November or early December, because I really doubt that most people will be shopping for a new phone right after the holidays.
