Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) succeeded in convincing one of the best creative talents in the magazine industry to join its creative team. The tech giant hired Arem Duplessis, the design director of The New York Times Magazine to serve as creative director.

Duplessis to help Apple’s internal marketing team

Duplessis is the talent behind the stunning covers of the New York Times magazine. Duplessis said one of his responsibilities in his position as creative director at Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is to help the internal marketing team of the iPhone and iPad maker.

When asked why it is the right time for him to move on to a different company, Duplessis said,

“I’ve been at The New York Times Magazine for almost ten years. I have worked with some of the smartest people on the planet and it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I feel very fortunate to have been able to experience such a great gig. With that said, it’s time for a new chapter and a new challenge.”

Duplessis added that he will miss his colleagues at The New York Times Company (NYSE:NYT). He said, “I have made so many great friends over the years and I will miss them dearly.”

Duplessis to start working in February

Given his expertise in design, Duplessis is expected to ensure that the products of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) are eye-catching and highly competitive in the market. Duplessis will start working with the tech giant in February next year.

Early this month, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) announced that it hired Scott Trattner, the former advertising executive of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). Trattner helped Apple in launching the iPhone, iPad, iTunes, and iCloud during his tenure at the tech giant. At Facebook, Trattner will serve as executive creative director.

Meanwhile, speculations that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will release its new iPhone and iPad models are growing. There have been reports that the tech giant will launch its iPhone 6, which sports a larger screen, in May next year. According to some speculators, the iPhone 6 is a phablet and integrated with a 20nm processor from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. The tech giant is also reportedly planning to release a bigger iPad called iPad Max or iPad Pro.
