Motorola X Press Images and Specs Leak Online Ahead of Official Launch

Updated on

Previously, we’ve seen many leaked photos of the Motorola X, and while those photos stay true, we now have the first official press release images of the same phone. Apparently it seems that Motorola is not good at keeping secrets as we’ve known mostly everything about the phone – its photos, specs, announce date and whatnot.

Courtesy of @evleaks, we now have the press release images of the Motorola X ahead of the official launch. Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc (NYSE:MMI) is going to unveil this phone on August 1 and the invitations are already sent to the press, but fortunately you don’t need to wait for the launch event.

Both Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc (NYSE:MMI) and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) have big expectations with this phone. From what it looks like, this is going to be a mid-end phone. It won’t come with the latest and greatest specs but it’s more about context aware features.

The Moto X would come with an always-on voice commands that can be used to search Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) with voice, regardless if the app is launched or not. The notification would quietly light up the screen for a few seconds and then goes away. Users would be able to capture snaps with just a tap anywhere on the screen, and it can also take a burst of photos when you tap and hold.

Motorola X specs

  • Dual-core Qualcomm S4 Pro MSM8960DT 1.7GHz CPU, Adreno 320 GPU
  • 2GB RAM
  • 4.7-inch screen with 720×1184 resolution
  • 2.1MP front-facing camera / 10.5MP rear camera
  • 16GB internal memory, 12GB of which is user-accessible
  • NFC
  • Android 4.2.2 (some sources report that it will come with 4.3)

As you can learn from the specs, it comes with a dual core processor and not with a quad-core processor, however it does offers 2GB of RAM. It would be interesting to see how Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc (NYSE:MMI) is thinking to market this phone, as it doesn’t come with high-end hardware.

Let’s wait for August 1 to see what this phone holds for us. For sure Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc (NYSE:MMI) has kept waiting us for a long time. Are you excited?
