Biden-Harris Made Voter Turnout History
Voters have done our job and turned out in record numbers. Now that the will of the voters is clear and President Trump has lost this election, he is seeking to interfere to stop this count and have the courts throw out ballots for his own gain. The voters decide who will represent us. Voters selected Biden to effectively tackle the pandemic, and move us forward to a better future.
Small businesses are looking forward to an administration that will create a rational and effective plan to contain the virus and support small businesses through this pandemic and beyond. We are committed to working with the new Congress to ensure much-needed small business support. That includes a robust, comprehensive plan to deal with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and economic impact.
And looking beyond the pandemic, with many issues exacerbated by its impact, what Main Street needs now is a commitment to tackling the inequality that existed prior to COVID-19, with a focus on the major gaps for small businesses including:
- A real understanding and commitment to eliminate the inequities in capital access and financial support for minority-owned and women-owned small businesses, particularly Black women-owned small businesses.
- Protecting and strengthening the health care many small businesses rely on through the Affordable Care Act.
- And addressing the very real child care and paid leave crisis we have in our country that directly impacts our small businesses economy.
Main Street Alliance is also committed to working with all the newly elected and re-elected members of the House and Senate to move these priorities forward to create a more equitable and just economy.
