Shaq On the Term "Owner" in the NBA:

Jenners: “Now, NBA franchises like the Dallas Mavericks want to move away from having the term ‘owner’ because it’s offensive to the players and the organization.”

Shaq: “I don’t allow this sh*t. Okay? If you’re a part of my team, you are an employee. I don’t own you. You work for me. First of all, these players, they need to stay out of politics. If they’re going to get into politics - how about community politics? How about building schools? How about passing toys out for kids during Christmas? Jenners: “Good for you!”

Shaq: “Stop it, stop it. Listen, I played for a lot of ‘owners’ and they don’t ‘own’ me.”

Jenners: “Correct! They own a business. You’re an employee.”

O’Neal: “Exactly, they pay a lot of their money for me to work for them, and they make a lot of money off of me, but, stop it.”
