Nokia Corporation (NOK) Pokes Fun Of Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPad

Updated on

Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) just can’t help itself when it comes to making fun of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s products (and let’s face it, Apple makes itself a target with some things). Earlier this year Nokia circulated an ad which showed how the iPhone’s camera turned users into zombies when pictures were taken in dim lights.

Now the company is showcasing the opposite problem with the iPad in an attempt to show viewers why the new Lumia 2520 tablet is a better choice. This new ad shows how the iPad can’t really be used very well in very bright lights.

Nokia’s Lumia 2520 versus Apple’s iPad

Chris Matyszczyk of CNET reports that this new ad shows how Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)’s Lumia 2520 tablet can easily be used even in the brightest lights. However, the iPad requires a significant amount of shade because of the major glare on the screen. Although the iPad isn’t mentioned by name, the tablet being used by people who are forced into the shade because of the glare looks quite a bit like the new iPad Air.

Sadly, the ad is probably accurate when it shows numerous tablet users taking their tablets along when they go play with their dog. We’re so plugged into technology these days that it’s hard to put these things down. So in case you want to sit in the bright sunlight with your tablet while your dog runs around and enjoys the sun, Nokia wants to tell you that a Lumia 2520 is the best choice.

Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) launched the Lumia 2520 tablet in October. It runs Windows RT and marks the company’s very first Windows tablet. The device certainly looks like it belongs to the Lumia family, as it has the sleek exterior of the Lumia smartphones. At 10.1 inches in size, the tablet is in direct competition with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPad, which also launched just in time for the holiday shopping season.
