Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NOK) Ad Compares iPhone Users To Zombies

Updated on

Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)’s new ad takes another stab at iPhones users, this time showing how its Lumia 925 doesn’t need a flash, but the iPhone does. The commercial features a man walking down the street and passing several zombies, which have red eyes and take pictures of each other using an iPhone with a flash.

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NOK) Ad Compares iPhone Users To Zombies

Nokia Vs. The iPhone Zombies

The man shades his eyes from the bright flash while the red-eyed zombies stare right into the flash and are washed out by it. He’s somewhat scared of the flash and the pale, mindless zombies it turns its users into.

Although it’s difficult to see exactly which smartphone the zombies are using, Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)’s ad is a direct smack at Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). Not long after the iPhone came out, there were complaints about a purple flare showing up on pictures which were taken with its camera while it was aimed at a bright light.

Nokia Focuses On Smartphone Camera Market

The ad is yet another indication of Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)’s target market, which is smartphone users who love to take pictures. Studies show this is a rapidly growing segment of smartphone users, so it’s a smart one for the Finnish handset maker to target.

Earlier this month, Nokia held an event showing how the Lumia 925 offers the best camera experience within the market. Like the zombie commercial, the company focused on how its camera can be used to capture stunning images in the dark.

Nokia EOS Rumors

Also rumors about Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)’s Lumia EOS keep surfacing. The device is expected to have a 41 megapixel camera. The device is now rumored to become available on AT&T in July and possibly be available in black, yellow and red. Although the details on this device are still rather sketchy, it is expected to have a camera that’s far better than the camera found in any other popular smartphone.
