Whitney Tilson is the founder and a Managing Partner of T2 Partners LLC, which manages three hedge funds and the Tilson Mutual Funds. He is the co-founder of Value Investor Insight, co-authored More Mortgage Meltdown (fantastic book, you can view my book review here-here, and was a contributor to Poor Charlie’s Almanack (considered the best book on Charlie Munger).  Tilson writes a regular column on value investing for Kiplinger’s, has written for Forbes, the Financial Times, the Motley Fool and TheStreet.com, was featured in a 60 Minutes segment in December 2008 that won an Emmy, and is a CNBC Contributor. He is the co-founder and Chairman of the Value Investing Congress.

Glenn H. Tongue-Glenn H. Tongue is a Managing Partner of T2 Partners LLC and the Tilson Mutual Funds. Mr. Tongue spent 17 years on Wall Street, most recently as an investment banker at UBS, where he was a Managing Director and Head of Acquisition Finance. Before UBS, Mr. Tongue was at DLJ for 13 years, the last three of which he served as the President of NYSE-listed DLJdirect. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director in the Investment Bank at DLJ, where he worked on over 100 transactions aggregating more than $40 billion.

Carlo Cannell-Having started Cannell Capital in 1992 with $600,000 as a sole partnership, Carlo Cannell sent $488 million back to investors over several years starting in 2004. A liberal arts major (Princeton), he is a third generation investment manager whose style is malleable – he is a fox, not a hedge hog.

Doug Kass-Douglas Kass is the founder and President of Seabreeze Partners Management, Inc., which is also the General Partner of Seabreeze Partners Long/Short, L.P.  From January, 2005 to August, 2009 Kass managed a dedicated short fund, Seabreeze Partners Short L.P.

David Nierenberg -David Nierenberg runs the D3 Family Funds, which manage $425 million and focus on micro-caps, where constructive engagement can build shareholder value. Mr. Nierenberg serves on the Washington State Investment Board and chairs the investment committee for Whitman College. He is a graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School.

Bruce M. Zessar, CFA-Bruce M. Zessar, CFA is a Managing Director of Advisory Research, Inc., a value-oriented investment firm with over $5 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2011. Advisory Research manages domestic and international equity strategies utilizing a bottom-up, internally-generated research process focused on providing superior risk-adjusted returns and downside protection. Prior to joining Advisory Research, Bruce was a co-founder and principal of Oasis Legal Finance, LLC, a specialty finance company. Bruce is a former partner in the law firm of Sidley Austin, where he practiced financial markets-related law, including securities, antitrust, and intellectual property.  Bruce holds an A.B. magna cum laude in Economics from Harvard University and a J.D. with distinction from Stanford Law School.

Keith Trauner-Keith Trauner is a Founder and Managing Partner of GoodHaven Capital Management, LLC. He was born in 1957 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in 1979 from Middlebury College. From November 2008 through October 2010, Keith was the Managing Member of IV Research LLC, a firm that provided contract research services to Fairholme Capital Management, LLC (“Fairholme”). Prior to the formation of IV Research from 1999 through 2008, Keith was a senior analyst and portfolio manager of Fairholme and held a variety of positions within the firm at various times, including Analyst, Portfolio Manager, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. From 2002 through 2008, Keith was also the Secretary/Treasurer and a Director of Fairholme Funds, Inc., the parent company of The Fairholme Fund (the “Fund”) and was a named Portfolio Manager of the Fund from 2006-2008. Prior to founding GoodHaven, Larry was the Managing Member of both LSP Management (from March 2010 to July 2010) and its predecessor, FCM Advisors, LLC (from July 2008 to March 2010), providing contract research services to Fairholme Capital Management, LLC (“Fairholme”), a registered investment adviser. From 2002 through 2007, Larry was an analyst and portfolio manager for Fairholme and a member of the portfolio management team at The Fairholme Fund (the “Fund”), a registered investment company (mutual fund) affiliated with Fairholme, including duties as a named Portfolio Manager of the Fund from January 2002 through March 2006, when Fairholme relocated to Florida. In addition, Larry was a Vice-President of Fairholme Funds, Inc., the parent company of the Fund, from March 2008 through January 2009. Larry has more than 20 years of experience in securities research and portfolio management across a wide range of companies and industries.
