Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) announced that it would be implementing some of the features requested by Xbox One players to improve their gaming experiences.
According to the company, it will roll out the next Xbox One System update to people who get early access, and it is hoping to receive feedback about the new features before introducing them to all the Xbox One consoles next month and onward.
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) said the Xbox One System will be updated with improved social features, mobile purchase, low-battery notification, disable notifications during video, and enabling 3D Blu-ray.
Activity feed updates
According to the company, the activity feed updates provide new ways for Xbox One players to interact with their friends. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) said the interface will be changed to a longer, single column scrolling list with more content. The company said players will have the ability to post text, like and comment on their feed.
In addition, Xbox One players will be able to share game clips and other things on their feed with their friends on public or private message. Furthermore, they will also receive notifications when someone liked, made a comment or shared their items.
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) said every Xbox One player will have a personal feed on their profile to know the activities of their friends. Players will be able to see what their friends shared and liked on their activity feed with the SmartGlass. The company said it would bring additional activity feed support for the SmartGlass updates in the future.
Friends Area on Home
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) expanded the Friends Area on Home so that Xbox One players will know the current activities of their friends such as the top trending games and the leaderboard. The company will implement an extended preview for the Friends Area on Home update to a subset of preview audience to be able to refine it until it is ready for the entire Xbox One market.
Mobile purchase
The company is finally implementing Mobile purchase, the most requested feature on Xbox Feedback. Players will be able to purchase games and add-on content using the Xbox SmartGlass or through Xbox.com.
Other Xbox One updates
According to Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Xbox One players will now receive notifications if the battery of their controller is getting low. They will also have the ability to turn off notifications during video. The company also enabled 3D Blu-ray functionality on Xbox One. Furthermore, players will also see how long their friends have been online.
