You Can Now Play Games On PC With Your Xbox One Controller

Updated on

Gamers can now use Xbox One controllers on their personal computers. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) just released an update that will allow users to play PC computer games with the controller.

Xbox One to enhance PC game experience

Microsoft released a statement regarding the matter. The PC maker claims it wants fans to have computer compatibility and they can’t wait for people to use the controller with their favorite computer games. The company added that fans will appreciate the revamped battery compartment, new design, offset analog stick and better D-pad.

After installing the drivers, the One controller will work with any device that works with a 360 controller. Users can simply connect the controller to the computer via USB to play.

The controller update isn’t the only thing Microsoft has planned for the Xbox One entertainment console. The company recently announced plans to launch 45 new entertainment applications for both the One and 360 platforms. The lineup will include apps for HBO, Twitter and Showtime. At press time, there is no word on when these new apps will arrive, but it will likely be in the latter portion of the year.

Microsoft Xbox One is the ultimate home entertainment device

Previously, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has discussed how users are spending more time on the Xbox for entertainment purposes instead of games. When the company used the Xbox One’s selling points for entertainment purposes, some game fans were upset. Microsoft also hopes to team up with Twitter to help users find trending shows. The feature may be called Watch with Twitter, and it will be optimized so that viewers can view real-time tweets as they are watching certain tv shows. There will also be a Vine video app.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is expected to offer more details about the upcoming apps at the E3 keynote next week. Hopefully, there will be more details on just exactly what gamers can look forward to in the near future.
