How to delete a contact from WhatsApp
First off, if you’re using WhatsApp, then you’ll know that the app loads contacts from the contact list on your phone. That’s why there’s no way to delete a contact directly from within WhatsApp.
This means that if you want to delete a contact from WhatsApp, then you’ll need to remove that contact from your phone’s address book.
To do this, just launch the call app and find the contact that you want to remove from WhatsApp. Tap on the name of the contact from the top.
Now, tap on the three dot button at the top right and then you’ll find an option for “Delete.” Tap on the “Delete” option to delete the contact from your smartphone. Note that the contact will be permanently deleted.
That’s all you need to do. If you’re still able to see that person on your contact list, that’s because of the chats that you have had in the past. To delete the chats, simply tap and hold that contact on WhatsApp, and then tap on “Delete chat.”
If, however, you want the contact in your address book, but don’t want that person to message you on WhatsApp, then you can simply block that contact. To block a contact, tap on the contact to open the screen where you can message him/her. From there, tap on the top right side button and then on “More.” Use the option for “Block” to block a contact.
