I just found this great hour plus long video by a guest lecturer teaching Bruce Greenwald’s class. The person speaking is Bill Browder (more info about the video below) he discusses emerging market investing.
The story of how Russia investor Bill Browder — well-known for investor activism and pushing for governance reforms in Russia — came to clash with Russia’s business elite is a fascinating study in the challenges of operating in the post-Soviet economy, and held many lessons for those interested in exploiting the opportunities of emerging markets. Hosted by the International Development Club, Columbia Investment Management Association, and the Club of Emerging Europe at Columbia Business School, Mr. Browder, in conversation with Professor Bruce Greenwald, discussed what he learned from his experiences in Russia, and what he sees as the future of emerging market economies more broadly.
