Founded in 1980, Semirara Mining & Power Corp. mines for coal and generates power. Its mining segment is engaged in mining of thermal coal. This segment contributes about 55% of revenue. SCC’s power segment contributes 45% of total revenue and engages in the generation of energy available for sale through electricity markets and trading. The company is majority owned by Philippine conglomerate DMCI Holdings, Inc. (DMC PM).
