When getting a new phone, if there’s one concern that many users have it’s how to transfer their existing content to the new phone. If you’re already on Android and sync contacts with a Google account, then you don’t need to be concerned as you can simply enter your login details on the new phone and you’re good to go. Apart from that, there are also some third-party solutions that allow you to do this, provided you follow their exact instructions. However, things become really difficult when we’re talking about moving between different platforms, such as moving from iPhone to Android.
When it comes to Apple and Google, these companies wouldn’t want to make it easier to move your data from one platform to other. There are some workarounds that you can do, for example sync your contacts to Google Contacts using an online service, but again, the process is not really as easy as it seems to be. But if you want to migrate content from iPhone to Android, and own a Motorola phone, then you’re in luck.
Transferring content from iPhone to Motorola phones
As you might have guessed, we’re going to talk about an app, and the name of the app is Motorola Migrate. The app allows you to move your important content from iPhone to different Moto phones such as Moto X, Moto G, Droid Maxx, Droid Mini and Droid Ultra. It is worth noting that the app will only work with these selected smartphones from Motorola, and won’t work with other Android smartphones.
The migration process works thanks to Apple’s iCloud, where you’ll need to sign in to your iCloud’s interface. Once you’ve installed the Motorola Migrate app on your Moto phone, you can transfer content from other Android phone to your Moto phone, or you can also transfer content from iPhone to Moto phone. If you’re transferring data from an old Android phone to a Moto phone, then you can transfer photos, videos, text history, call history and SIM contacts.
If you’re transferring from an iPhone to a Moto phone, then you can transfer only contacts and calendar events. The limitation is mainly because of iCloud’s own limitations, and that’s why you can’t transfer other data to your phone.
If this seems interesting to you, then you can install Motorola Migrate from Play Store, but remember that it will only work with selected Motorola phones. The app requires at least Android 2.2 and above.
