These days, a Google account is not just limited to Gmail but the same account is used for many more services such as Google Drive, Google+, Calendar, Contacts, YouTube, Blogger, Google Music, Play Store and more. Google allows you to use the same account on all these different services and thus, you should ensure that your account is safe and used by only you. Also the same account allows you to login to your Android smartphones, tablets and Chromebooks.

To keep an eye on recent activity of your account, these activities are tracked by Google and you can view them from your Google Dashboard. If you find any suspicious activity, then the next step you should do is to change the password.

To view your recent Google account activity, click on your profile photo, and then click on Account. From the left column, click on Security and then on Recent Activity. You can directly visit this section from https://security.google.com/settings/security/activity.

As you can see in the above image, most of the activities displayed are related to logins, but it will also show you when you changed your password or added a recovery email address. For login activity, you can see the date, time, browser, operating system and location.

If you notice any unfamiliar activity, then there’s a “Change your password” button that allows you to change your password right away.
