FBN Beats CNBC In Business Day Viewers For 13th Consecutive Week

“Lou Dobbs Tonight” and “Varney & Co” Continue as Top Rated Programs in Business News

FOX Business Network (FBN) continued its winning streak over CNBC, topping the network in Business Day and Market Hours viewers during the week of May 7th – May 11th, according to Nielsen Media Research. As markets reacted to President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal, FBN’s Business Day coverage saw a 12 percent advantage over rival CNBC with 188,000 total viewers compared to CNBC’s 168,000. FBN also overtook CNBC in the crucial Market Hours daypart (9:30AM-4PM), delivering 185,000 viewers compared to CNBC’s 172,000 this week.

Marking 51 consecutive weeks as the most-watched market program on television, “Varney & Co” (weekdays, 9AM-12PM/ET) once again dominated its CNBC competition with 214,000 total viewers compared to 179,000. Along with Varney & Co., After the Bell (4-5PM/ET) and Countdown to the Closing Bell with Liz Claman (3-4PM/ET) ranked in the top four rated business programs, both besting their CNBC competition for the seventh consecutive week.

Continuing as the overall leader in business news, Lou Dobbs Tonight was the number one news program in all of business television, averaging 347,000 total viewers. Additionally, FBN’s post-market programs The Evening Edit (5-6PM/ET) and Making Money (6-7PM) both outpaced their CNBC competition in total viewers for the week.
