ETF AUM recently crossed the $3 trillion asset mark according to BlackRock, but the rapid growth is just beginning say some. By 2025, Credit Suisse expects ETF and passive share to near an approximate equilibrium state (with actives/traditionals) or$9 trillion – with the strongest active managers also share gainers. We expect the larger mix of passives in the future (especially cap-weighted) to provide greater opportunities for actives to generate more consistent outperformance versus benchmark (and justify their higher fees)
