Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is making it a White Christmas for everyone! From now through the day after Christmas, Facebook users who utilize the chat feature can see a little bit of snow. All users have to do is open a private message or tap on a Chat Head to see snowflakes swirling around the circular icon. Although the snowfall will stop in a couple of seconds, you can tap on the chosen Chat Head to watch it snow again.
Facebook celebrates the holidays and New Year
This snowy chat feature isn’t the only festive feature offered by the social media giant this year. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is also offering “Your Year In Review”, which is a collection of your most important moments on Facebook. This may include popular posts that have been shared or tagged as well as life events. Facebook will also allow users to view their friends’ “Your Year in Review”.
Google+ remembers 2013
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is also getting into remembering the past year with Google+ search for #year2013 displaying animated GIFs of videos. Yesterday, Vic Gundotra (senior vice president of engineering for Google) shared the news on his Google+ page. In addition, at the end of the video with Google+ reminder to users: “Give the gift of awesome photos. Help your friends install the Google+ app and turn on auto backup.”
The auto feature takes a closer look at photos which were uploaded, then creates live action by combining a group of images and turning it into an animation. This auto-awesome feature also adds falling snowflakes to snowy scenes and makes Christmas tree images images sparkle.
