The photo taken by the Galaxy Note 8 looks detailed and sharp, although not as accurate as the one taken by the iPhone 8 Plus. Moreover, the iPhone 8 Plus renders more sunlight while excelling at making colors vivid.

It seems that the Galaxy Note 8 made its way to the top and is more suitable for indoor photos. The picture looks sharp, vivid, and detailed. However, like in the other rounds featured on Tom’s Guide, the iPhone 8 seems to handle the lighting in the picture better. Although the Note 8 can’t match the color vibrancy of the iPhone 8 Plus, it is still the winner of this round.

As mentioned above, both devices feature dual lenses, which allow you to smartly put the focus on the object of the portrait instead of the background, thanks to the effect called Portrait mode (iPhone 8 Plus) and Live Focus (Galaxy Note 8).
The Galaxy’s mode is more versatile and gives more freedom to the user when snapping a photo. Despite having only one setting, the iPhone 8 Plus nailed it, thanks to the lighting effects that you can add after taking a picture. If you take a good look at the subject, you will see that the iPhone 8 Plus gave a more realistic and natural picture, while the Note 8’s image seems kind of blurry and dim.

It is slightly disappointing to see that the long-anticipated phone couldn’t offer more camera-wise. Still, it has its own perks, especially in the Live Focus mode and indoor.
