It may seem like a good idea for Michelle Obama to run for president in 2020 to prevent Donald Trump from winning a second presidential term. But it’s never going to happen.
Understandably – and quite expectedly – Democrats continue to look for presidential alternatives in their camp because Hillary Clinton – let’s be bold about it – failed to muster America’s support. When Clinton lost to Trump last Tuesday, people were surprised. Even Trump’s supporters were surprised. It wasn’t just another ordinary loss for Democrats like those in both 2000 and 2004; it was a disastrous failure.
Everyone thought a man so despised across the country would never be elected, but people voted for him, and Trump became U.S. Presidential-elect last week. Sure, we have to hand it to Trump for convincing so many Americans to vote for him, but what served as a major factor for his victory was the fact that a fair share of Americans were not voting for him – they were voting against Hillary Clinton.

Michelle is the opposite of Hillary
Clinton is a scandalous figure in U.S. politics. People have held a grudge against her since she voted in favor of Iraq War in 2003.
Michelle Obama is the opposite of Hillary. Over the past eight years of living in the White House with outgoing U.S. President Barack Obama, she has never been linked to any controversies or scandals. Michelle has maintained an excellent reputation and to this very day – despite the fact that some people may not be happy about her husband’s presidency – she has a popularity rating any Democratic politician would envy.
But here’s the problem – she is not a politician. In fact, Barack Obama told TV host Jimmy Kimmel last month that Michelle “was never wild about politics.”
“Michelle once explained to me, ‘I try to organize my life not to have a lot of mess around, and politics is just a big mess’,” the President told Kimmel.
America and the entire world admire and love Michelle, not for her political career, but rather, for her powerful and influential humanitarian and feminist efforts.
Michelle Obama has previously made it clear that she’ll never miss the permanent security detail when she and her husband leave the White House. Indeed, as a private citizen, she will have more freedom (though less executive power) to accomplish her humanitarian goals.
Michelle Obama vs. Donald Trump: pros and cons
While millions of Americans are uncertain about their future, it’s understandable why Michelle Obama would trump Donald Trump. She had a modest childhood and spent long years studying to become a respected lawyer. Trump, meanwhile, got a $14 million loan from his father in 1985. He also admitted to being greedy.
“My whole life I’ve been greedy, greedy, greedy. I’ve grabbed all the money I could get. I’m so greedy. But now I want to be greedy for the United States,” Trump said during one of his rallies.
If you compare the way Trump and Michelle Obama address audiences, you’ll also notice a huge difference. While Trump raises his voice and humiliates his opponents, Michelle lowers her voice and speaks with a cool temperament. She also doesn’t mind making fun of herself every once in a while. Trump, meanwhile, has never made fun of himself or showed self-deprecation.
Melania Trump, the next first lady of the United States, is the first foreign-born first lady since Louisa Adams in the 1820s. Melania has little to no interest in humanitarian or feminist efforts. Instead, she is expected to serve as a beautiful face while her husband rules the country.
On Thursday, Melania Trump and Michelle Obama met for tea at the White House. Despite slamming Melania’s husband throughout this presidential campaign, Michelle remained cool-headed during her chat with Melania.
Obamas will never run America again, unless…
Michelle Obama knows how to connect with audiences. When she expressed her anti-Trump sentiment last month, audiences couldn’t hold back tears.
In fact, even one Trump aide said that she is the only one who can match the new President’s ability to truly connect with audiences. And while some would think Michelle running for President would not be surprising – Hillary did it, so why not? – that’s not the case with Michelle.
There is no doubt Michelle Obama will pop up among Democratic presidential contenders every now and then over the next presidential elections in the U.S., but the truth is that Michelle is unlikely to ever consider running for president.
As Obama himself admitted, his wife thinks politics is a “big mess.” And it really is. As much as people would love to see Michelle in the White House again, they have to face the truth. The U.S. will soon have a new pPresident, and the Obamas will never run America again. That is, of course, unless Michelle and Barack’s kids consider running for President one day.
What’s next for Michelle?
There is little to zero chance Michelle Obama will ever run for president. Her husband turns 53 on January 17, and he leaves the White House three days later.
While Michelle is expected to continue promoting humanitarian causes around the world, it’s unlikely we’ll ever see her furiously debating with politicians in an attempt to muster votes. In fact, Michelle Obama doesn’t need debates to convince Americans to vote for her. Michelle has already won the hearts of dozens of millions of Americans.
After they leave the White House in early 2017, Michelle and Barack will remain in Washington. The two are expected to keep working at the Obama Foundation.
In fact, their website quotes Michelle as saying, “There is still so much history yet to be made.”
