2 Dead, 2 Injured In Marion County Shooting; Suspect Arrested

Two people have reportedly been killed and two injured in a shooting in rural Marion County, Oregon, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

Police were called to the 13400 block of Killiam Loop Northeast, located east of Woodburn, Oregon, according to a tweet from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Both people injured were taken to OHSU Hospital and Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.

When police arrived, they reported an active shooter situation. While deputies did state that there isn’t any current danger to the public, the shooter is still believed to be at large as of 1pm PT. Police are currently searching the surrounding areas for the perpetrator.

UPDATE 4:55pm EDT:

The suspect, still currently unidentified, has reportedly been arrested. According to Lt. Chris Baldridge of the Oregon State Police during an update at 1:36pm PT, the unidentified suspect was arrested somewhere east of Portland. He declined to give the exact location of the suspect’s arrest.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and the Monitor Fire District both lent assistance to the Oregon State Police.

The shooting was reported on Killiam Loop Northeast in Woodburn, Oregon. The location is about four miles east of Woodburn on Oregon 211, and about four miles northwest of the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm on South Meridian Road.
