UPDATE: TwItter has fixed the problem and the network is back online as of 9:30 AM ET Thursday.

In breaking news, many Twitter users across the globe are experiencing issues accessing the network right now. The social network went down early Thursday morning due to technical problems.

The company has not responded to requests for comment as of 9:20 AM ET Thursday.

It turned out the Twitter outage on Thursday only lasted around 10 to 15 minutes before the company got its systems back up and the Twittersphere was live again around 9:30 AM.

In related news, Twitter has had a busy few weeks. After a long search, the BoD recently appointed Jack Dorsey, who co-founded the site, as the permanent CEO. Also of note, Google billionaire Omid Kordestani recently became executive chairman of the firm.

The struggling social media company, which is fighting to boost flagging growth, also announced layoffs of up to 8% of the total headcount earlier this week, with job losses apparently expected in all divisions.
