Actuate Corp Dives After Missing Expectations on Results

This Friday’s top midday gainers are Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd (NYSE:AEM), SBA Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:SBAC) and Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:BAGL). The losers are Actuate Corp (NASDAQ:BIRT), Idenix Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:IDIX) and QLogic Corporation (NASDAQ:QLGC).

Agnico Mines Surges

Today’s top gainer midday is Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd (NYSE:AEM), jumping +8.04%. The John Paulson and Ray Dalio pick’s increase is fueled by upbeat earnings results, reported yesterday.

SBA Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:SBAC) comes in second, gaining +6.99% on the heels of its Q1 results report. This is a nice piece of news for shareholders Steve Mandel and George Soros.

Restaurant franchise Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:BAGL) surged +6.33%. The David Einhorn pick recently posted better-than-expected results and got an upgrade on its stock price.

Results Lead to Rough Day for Actuate, Idenix, QLogic

Actuate Corp (NASDAQ:BIRT) is the biggest loser of the day midday, its price falling -34.64%. The Soros holding missed expectations on earnings and revenue for Q1 2014.

At a very distant second is small-cap pharmaceutical company Idenix Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:IDIX), down -6.5%. First quarter results were reported yesterday for this Seth Klarman investment.

Last is QLogic Corporation (NASDAQ:QLGC), also down on its results. It fell -6.05% and it is yet another Soros allocation in the red this Friday.
