Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)’s legendary ringtone has completed 20 years since debuting on the Nokia 2110. This has been the official Nokia ringtone since its launch in 1994, and can be found on every single Nokia device including Asha and Lumia phones.
Original Nokia tune with modern feel
The tune has been same since its launch with new technology and sounds added over the years to give it a more modern feel. In its official blog, Nokia stated “Naturally, there have been many different versions of the Nokia ringtone as the technology has advanced over the years, but the melody always remains the same.”
In a video, Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) launched an a cappella version of the song in which people gave different beats and voices but keeping the original tune the same.
Users find the Nokia tune a classic one and claim to use it since they bought Nokia 3500 up to Lumia 920. A Nokia fan, Hethler De Chavez, said that everyone remembers the famous ringtone launched back in 2000 with the “connecting people” animated pic, which appeared the moment users switched on their device. The tune, according to this fan, was very unique and even other cell phone makers gave the ringtone as an optional tune, in their devices.
“Happy Birthday Nokia! (I’m supposed to sing you a Happy Birthday song but the song itself was already licensed, so… Hahaha! Cheers!),” stated Hethler De Chavez.
Strengthening camera apps
In separate news, Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) has enabled developers to design Windows Phone apps, which would give users more features like combine shots clicked with the front and back cameras. Nokia is continuously making efforts to upgrade its camera hardware and software to achieve a niche and be a step ahead of the competitors. The Finnish company has launched Imaging SDK beta, version 1.2 that allows combining and positioning images of different sizes over other images, which would surely attract selfie addicts. The new feature could also be used to add badges or stickers to the images.
