Updated on

Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) has compiled data based on certain words tweeted and status messages set by users, which tells about the mood of the users. The status of users on Twitter like “feel happy,” “feel sad,” “hungover,” and “late to work” have been collected together and broken down by month and day of the week in English, for the year 2013, to know when people feel what.

December the saddest month

All in all, some tweets were predictable like when users tweeted “late for work” during summer weekdays, says a blog post from Twitter. December is the saddest month of the year as gathered by the data from Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR). It might be due to the holidays. In December, “Feeling sad” status was posted the most number of times compared to any other month, which may be due to gloomy weather or being away from family for the holidays.

Apart from these, other factors affecting tweets might also be considered, for example, on Tuesdays in December users often tweet that they are feeling happy, which might be due to Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, which were on Tuesday.Twitter

As per the data, users hardly tweet about their happiness on Sundays, in April, as they are very busy outside enjoying the weather as the icy grip of winter breaks its hold. In the month of March, Sundays are big hangover days, whereas Tuesday and Wednesday in January can be rough probably due to the New Year’s days.
