Google's Nexus 7 Tablets Are Nearing 1 Million Sales Per Month

The Nexus 7 tablet from Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) and Asutek has been selling better than expected with a huge growth since the launch. The popular budget tablet is nearing the 1 million sales per month mark, and that is big news for Google.

When Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) first released the Nexus 7, the company’s lower-priced tablet sold 500,000 tablets the first month. This new number is a huge highlight for the company but how long will this increase last, especially considering Apple’s recent introduction of the iPad Mini.

The Apple iPad is the one tablet that has yet to be beat. This means that although the Nexus 7 is showing some signs of success, it doesn’t mean that they are winning the competition. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) still takes the lead as their iPad Mini pre-orders officially sold out earlier this week.

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has yet to announce their specific sale numbers for Nexus 7, and Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) also has yet to reveal the number of sales from the Kindle Fire.

It’s not too hard to predict the future of all tablet sales. Thanks to the recent introduction of the iPad Mini, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) should continue to dominate the tablet market. I predict sales for the iPad will trump over all other tablet sales starting this holiday season and most likely the future. The good news is that it’s still likely that other low-end tablets, including the Nexus 7, will continue to make sales, thanks to Android fans and more budget-conscience consumers. I don’t see any company taking sales from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), but I still predict competitors will still tread along the way.

The Nexus 7 was revamped by Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) earlier this week by increasing the $199 model to 16 GB. For those who want more space, there is a 32GB model that starts at $249 and a 32GB model with HSPA+ connectivity for $299.
