Almost all the details of Samsung’s upcoming phablet Galaxy Note 7 have leaked out ahead of its official unveiling in New York on August 2. But the rumor mill is determined to keep churning out details until Samsung’s announcement. We know that the Galaxy Note 7 will be released in three colors: Silver Titanium, Blue Coral, and the Black Onyx. Now TechDroider (via SamMobile) has leaked what appears to be the clearest image yet of the Note 7 in Black Onyx.

Galaxy Note 7 sales to begin on August 2?

Even the metal frame of the Black Onyx model is painted black. It gives an elegant feel to Samsung’s premium phablet. Recent reports indicate that Samsung would make the device available in launch markets on the same day of unveiling. The Korean electronics giant is an official partner for the Rio Olympics that is set to begin on August 5. An early release also signals that Samsung is trying to garner more interest ahead of Apple’s iPhone 7 launch in September.

The image leaked by TechDroider shows the Note 7 in a fairly high resolution, but the device is on standby. The picture does confirm that the phone will feature an always-on functionality. You can see that almost all the openings above the screen are covered up except the iris scanner, front camera, and the selfie LED flash. Other sensors have been kept hidden.

Galaxy Note 7 rumored specs

Samsung is said to launch only the dual-edge display model of the Galaxy Note 7. There will be no flat-screen variant. It means the Note 7 will be the first Note device to sport a dual-edge screen. Though the phone has been confirmed to feature an iris scanner for security, it will retain the fingerprint sensor. According to a report from iGyaan.in, the S Pen stylus would feature a new version of Bluetooth LE and the Air Command interface would get a couple of new shortcuts.

The Galaxy Note 7 is rumored to feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, a 12-megapixel main camera, a USB Type-C port, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, and at least 4GB RAM. The device is said to pack a huge 4,000mAh battery.
